Past International Training Events

The FRONTIERS Summer and Winter Schools were a series of online training courses for science teachers motivated to introduce Nobel Prize Physics to their Classrooms. Their objectives were: The introduction of the participants to the FRONTIERS pedagogical design and its proposed activities for bringing Nobel Prize Physics to the classroom; The visit to Large Research Infrastructures in Physics and the opportunity to interact with researchers; The co-creation of a series of educational activities by the teachers in collaboration with their peers and FRONTIERS experts that will be shared to all schools in Europe; The discussion of the merits and barriers of introducing Nobel Prize Physics to the Classroom and presentation of the FRONTIERS methodology to achieve that. The FRONTIERS International Training Activities were organized under the auspices of the European School Innovation Academy (ESIA) and supported by the REINFORCE EU project.

REINFORCE International Training Course 2022

The REINFORCE International Training Course 2022, supported by FRONTIERS and organized by Ellinogermaniki Agogi, took place in Marathon, Greece from 10 to 15 July 2022 and trained teachers, researchers and citizens. Throughout the course, the participants received training in the fields of: Neutrino Astronomy, Gravitational Wave Astronomy, High Energy Physics and Cosmic Muon Tomography through a series of activities including lectures, hands-on work in the REINFORCE citizen science demonstrators, the assembly of simple detectors, experiments with cutting edge detectors, virtual visits to research centers and a dedicated workshop on the sonorization of experimental data. Through a continuous collaboration with experts and education researchers, the participants prepared their own engagement activities for informal learning, presented them and made plans to implement frontier physics activities with their students (the teachers) and their communities (the citizens) in the coming year.
